[GA-X58A-UD7] Sent in RMA, replaced for UD5, pleased :)
« on: November 16, 2012, 03:57:54 pm »
Hello there,

Just leaving my comments as recommended by Gigabyte's RMA service. I am rather pleased with how quickly Gigabyte have been responding to my emails.

I had my UD7 (rev 1.0) for 2 and a half years and a component had burnt out. Unfortunately no longer manufactured, Gigabyte offered a UD5 (rev 2.0) and G1 Assassin. As my case can't hold an XL-ATX motherboard I happily accepted the UD5 (my home server has one -- has been highly reliable).

Thanks again Gigabyte for your excellent RMA service. Happy customer here.

Hi

Well it is nice to hear that Gigabyte has honoured it's warranty to your satisfaction.  Obviously as motherboards get older the manufacturer doesn't always hold spares to enable repairs or replacements so I think that was a fair offer.  :D

Yep, very nice :)

I won't even have to re-install Windows what with both boards having the same chipsets (including the RAID controller :D). Windows may bitch that too much hardware has changed and want re-activating, though I can just re-apply my backed up token.
