GA-EX58 UD5 wont reboot at all - 6f Continueous beep
« on: December 19, 2009, 11:47:49 pm »
Hi All,

One day ago my PC went into a long Continueous beep.  The error on the board displayed 6f.  Looking at the display on the mobo closely, it seems to go through the bootup process and stops at 6f (Continueous beep).  I have found (I think) that it is looking for the floopy drv which I dont have. I was able to get to the bios on one occasion and got rid of the floopy options.  It seemed to work and now has gone back to the beeping with 6f.
How can I get it to boot again to try and get the bios up?

I have tried reseting/clearing cmos and that hasn't helped at all. Could I be doing it wrong?  Is there a way to get it booted and try to fix with an update (Bios)?

Your thoughts and help would be appriceated.

hi,
6F is usually where it hangs when you have a bad OC, doesnt mean anything with the floppy controller just means you can't boot with your current settings.
reset/clear cmos and set up cpu and memory to manufactures specs, don't forget to pull power lead from psu,
cheers
