GA-MA-785GMT-UD2H and CPU Core Control with new BIOSes

GA-MA-785GMT-UD2H and CPU Core Control with new BIOSes
« on: December 25, 2009, 11:06:56 pm »
Where the option "CPU CORE CONTROL" appear with the new BIOSes (F4 and F5)?
I update my BIOS with F4a first, but i don't see the "new option" (CPU Core Control).
Today i updated with new F5 BIOS and i still don't see CPU Core Control option.

Who have the same board, please post a image with the exactly point of configuration, becouse i never see the option?

I updated with @BIOS in Win 7. And i keep the Firmware in HYBRID.
Maybe is preferable update with floppy?
Maybe be a problem with my board?

My ask is not about overclocking, but i search and i don't choose nothing about my board.
If u say about this topic ( http://forum.giga-byte.co.uk/index.php/topic,596.0.html ), i posted in it, but nobody with the same board related nothing.

I ask of people that have the same board (GA-MA-785-GMT-UD2H) becouse in some boards the place of the option maybe can be different.
In mine i never saw the option.

Who have the same board please help me.

Hi,

I have a 770t-ud3p motherboard but I think the feature works pretty much the same.

The CPU Core Control Option only shows up in the bios after you have the acc set to hybrid and auto and can post with 4 cores. If you can't post with 4 cores and have your computer stable long enough to get into the bios you're pretty much screwed. You won't even be able to get to the option to attempt to disable any of the cores.

On my rig, I can get to the bios menu to disable core 2 and/or 3 but I can't get my rig to boot the OS stably anyway.   :-[

But then again I don't have your exact motherboard and bios so I don't know for sure - that's just how it works on mine.

But this is ridiculous. If i have a CPU with one core of four with trouble i never can disable this core to use 3 cores of 4? Mine is a X2 but with in X4 mode one core don't function. If i can disable this core i will can start my sistem. But in this mode i won't. Then, for what CPU Core Control? It's ridiculous. In ASUS motherboards this is possible in all CPUs. I hate this.

More people have something to say?

Well I agree with you it would make more sense to be able to select which cores you wanted enabled and disabled before you update the ec firmware. That would be nice and would probably solve your problem. Maybe we'll luck out in the next bios revision.

Talking with other brazilian user of your same board, he have the option without make nothing. And his CPU have a problematic core too like us.
See the BIOS screens in this link:

Go to BIOS page that activate ACC.

I looked at the screenshots. The difference is that he is using a x3 720, which has 3 cores. He therefore has the option to disable one of them prior to attempting to unlock his dormant core. For the x2 550, which has 2 cores, he would have no such option.
