Gigabyte EX58-UD5 Boot and Sleep Problems
« on: December 31, 2009, 08:33:36 pm »
Hello all, I recently purchased this motherboard bundle that explains its overclocked to 4ghz..

OVERCLOCKED Intel Core i7 920 D0 Stepping (SLBEJ) 4.00GHz / Gigabyte EX58-UD5 Intel X58 Motherboard / Corsair 6GB DDR3 PC3-12800C8 1600MHz DDR3 Bundle

From day one it appears to have a booting problem and a sleep problem..

Basically every morning it begins to start then before it gets chance to start it reboots again and drops back to the old default bios settings.
I basically restart then change the settings back to the overclocked settings profile and all is good all day. I also notice that when I click the sleep mode it does not recover at all and I have to switch the PC off.

Some will say update to the new F9 beta Bios but then I lose my purchased overclocked settings?
I purchased a machine that I wanted overclocked so I would not have to mess around with that side of it, and now I have a system that does not do what it was ment to.

any idea`s all

cheers and thanks
mrix

Hi,
I would go back to the seller with the problem,
They offered you an overclocked PC setup, that is giving you a problem,
You could save all your bios settings, update bios and reset all the backed up settings yourself,
But you will have altered the setup they sold you and they may tell you that!
Happy new year

Hello Mate,

I had the same problem.. and I think I know where you purchased it from is it OC.com? :) I had same problems.. In the end I had to send it back to them for a refund.. Now I purchased all the parts same as the package for approx £75.00 cheaper from another site and have their bios saved so I will just apply the bios and tweak from there when I build my new pc.. If this motherboard those the same I will steer clear from Gigabyte from now on..

Hi there, yes your right from where I purchased it from. I paid out around £650 for a 4ghz overclocked bundle and I expect it to work!
I think I could be taking the same action as you.
Cheers
