I have a Logitech G15 keyboard and G400 mouse that are plugged into the front USB 2.0 ports of my case, which in turn are connected to one of the board's USB 2.0 headers. I also have a 10-port (externally powered) USB 2.0 hub that's connected to one of the rear USB 3.0 ports.
If I boot up the PC with the hub connected, the keyboard and mouse don't come on until I get to Windows (hence I cannot enter the BIOS, RAID setup, etc.). However as soon as I unplug power from the hub, the KB and mouse power up almost as soon as the PC boots. This happens with every BIOS version I've tested (F13 through F19 beta).
It doesn't matter whether I plug the hub into the Intel or VIA USB 3.0 ports, the symptoms are the same. As soon as I kill power to the hub, the KB and mouse receive power.
I have rev 1.0 of this board and was wondering if anyone with the same revision has these issues? If so have you managed to fix them? And anyone with a rev 1.1 board, have you had a better/worse experience than me?
BTW, before anyone tells me to use a PS2 keyboard for configuring the BIOS: this is 2012. The last PC I built in 2007 never had a single problem with this keyboard and mouse. Having problems with USB peripherals in 2012 signifies that Gigabyte needs to get their s**t sorted fast, or get out of the game.
