How much PSU for this old system?

Ati 9600GT 512MB
4xDDR2
1xSSD, 1xSata HDD, 1xDVD-RW
1xPCI card(usb ports)

I guess that I m ok with a 400-430W?

Correction, it is Geforce 9600gt (Many years ago I had an Ati 9600xt

This is good enough ,get some Corsair PSU in that power range.

I agree 400 should be plenty, plus as Vezina said go for Corsair brand as they are pretty reliable, I have used this brand for years with no problems.

As the above answers are good id use the builder series 430  from coarsair it was on shell shocker from newegg today for 29.99 and it will last a long time as that system isnt putting any stress on it. If price is a problem go with a 350 with a single 12v rail i ran a system like that with a 350 watt PSU for 3 years and didnt have a problem and it was an off brand.

This Corsair 430W costs 50€ in my country.
In another forum they told me that I need 500 or more, but I think that 430 is more than enough.
I dont think 350 is enough!

Do you know about the volts in 3.3, 5, 12? Must be less, equal or more?

Volts are not Ampers .
You ve skipped some school courses.
The power of the PSU is the result of the Volts multiplied with the Ampers stated generally speaking.
A PC power supply delivers more rails with their own voltages and amperages.

You can get Chieftec or Sirtec instead of Corsair if the prices are better.Those 2 brands have some quality ,clean soldering inside and decent power stages for the money payed.In my country the Sirtec 400W is a best buy in all online stores as the Corsairs are a little more .

Hi there,

What do you mean ideal numbers?

The 3, 3, volts are for digital circuits, the 5 volt circuit turns your machine on, it is also used in standby mode (the 5 volts that is) so when you switch your machine 'off' at the button it is ready to switch it back on again when you power up,

The 12 volts run your fans, drives etc.

Mostly amps & watts is what you should be concerned about.

If you are talking single rail vs multi rail that is a different subject.

Plus or minus just a little wont make alot of difference like the 3.3 is pretty accurate and most run at 3.2 to 3.4  the 5 volt should ideally be 5 volts but generally run 5.1 or so a little over wont hurt if you get say 3.1 that a no go and if you get 4.7 thats a no go.  Generally those dont give you much problem.

As venzia lives in your general area his advice tops most right now as i live in the states it is different here.
