Will GA-970A-UD3P r2 Boot With a Non-UEFI VidCard Installed?

Question is as simple as that.  I have a new build with RAM arriving tomorrow and the only video card available is non-UEFI.

If it won't boot with this video card, I obviously can't get to the settings to change anything.

Many thanks for good information!

In order to configure Fast Boot in Windows 8 you need that. Unified Extensible Firmware Interface Graphics Output Protocol or UEFI GOP can remarkably increase the boot speeding of a Windows 8 computer.

If Secure Boot is enabled in Windows 8, the system may not boot.

These options are not enabled by default so having a Non-UEFI VidCard installed should not be a problem.

2) GA-990FXA-UD3 Rev. 1.1, FX-8350
3) GA-AM1M-S2P, Sempron 3850 Kabini

No, I'm not going to be running W8, but W7, and at this point there is no OS on the unformatted SSD anyway.

Quick boot is not a priority.

I just want to have the thing boot to the installation disk and have video to work with from there instead of a blank screen.

Apparently, this frustrating outcome happens with some UEFI motherboards with non-UEFI video cards.  I just wanted to make sure mine wasn't one of them.

Thanks!

One thing you could do is give us some more info on the new build like what CPU, memory, and video card. It might not be the video card.
