16GB kit (2 x 8 GB RAM) - compatible with ga-880gma-ud2h on W7 fresh install ?

Dear Forum,

I wasn´t aware that almost all the memory manufacturers are now offering 16GB kits (2 x 8GB), I just found out yesterday...

I´m going to get rid of the ones I´m using now (2 x 2GB Kingston-Genesis) as I have a spare computer to sell, and I want offer a full working pc.

Anyway, the Kingston HyperX Blue series (see datasheet) is just what I need, they are low profile, as they perfectly fit on the modules without interfering with my aftermarket cpu heatsink. It´s not the XMP series for intel.
I could take 4 x 4GB, but I´ve read that using only two modules does stress the cpu less.

So the concern here is, will my motherboard accept one of the modules on a fresh Windows 7 install ? Will it boot with a module of 8GB ?  I know it does with 2GB and 4GB module, but with 8GB ?

Ironically, this 16GB RAM kit sells cheaper on Amazon Spain (premium) than on my local computer store....

no it wont the most your motherboard will take is 4 x 4 gig sticks.

1.4 x 1.5V DDR3 DIMM sockets supporting up to 16 GB of system memory (Note 1)
2.Dual channel memory architecture
3.Support for DDR3 2000(OC)/1333/1066 MHz memory modules

Hey autotech ,

Thanks a ton for your response, I´m glad that I didn´t order them yet then   
However, I´m just wondering…. if the max RAM supported by my mobo is 16GB, why can´t I add then just 2 x 8GB modules, that would be my limit I understand, 2 slots would be always empty.
I will follow your advice, the temptation though was huge for this 8GB pair.

Yes it does support 16 gigs but having 4 slots it will only handle 4 gigs per slot the same limit i have on mine. I use 4 x 4 gig sticks at 1600 with my 1090t and havent had a problem since i installed them. I did try an 8 gig stick in mine thinking like you and since i build for others i had them already and it gave me the memory error beep.  Sorry that it cant handle it in two slots but you can always use all four slots and use them at 1333 just tighten the timings up and they will run as fast as 1600 would with looser timings.

I will then go finally for Corsair Vengeance Kit (4 x 4GB),... again, cheaper on Amazon (they are gradually converting into THE Worldstore!  )
