<cpuid 0f49 patch 0003> what does it mean ?
« on: March 26, 2013, 02:38:04 pm »
hello everybody,

i have gigabyte (GA-945PL-S3) motherboard with Intel core2due 3.0 processor .
my problem started after i dismantled my computer to clean it (or maybe other reason i'm not sure)
after that sometimes when i start the pc everything works but no display. and when i reset the RAMs it works again but every while the problem comes again and i should reset the RAMs again.
but also i noticed this message on the boot screen <cpuid 0f49 patch 0003> ....sometimes it appears and sometimes not
what does it mean ? and is it related to the RAM problem ?

i cleared the COMS reset BIOS but no changes . i read on other forums and someone suggest that it could be a HHD problem (HHD starting to fail) is that true ?

can you help me please

What version bios do you have. Because there is a bios update that address the CPU-ID. Try updating the bios and see if that take care of it.

Well if you have the latest one it doesn't matter because that fix is in it.

Have you tried a different for HD or memory to see if you get that error on boot.

The funny part of all of this is it is mostly Gigabyte boards with this problem.

You maybe have already done searches for this problem and notice that everybody has a different answer.

One other thing you can try is you said you were doing cleaning in the computer case. By any chance did you take the CPU out.

If so I would take it back out and look at it to make sure you didn't get any thing on the pins or gold connection.

yes i did take everything out including the cpu i will check it today.
i tried different ram but same thing . but didn't try different HDD yet maybe i will buy new one tomorrow
and yes i noticed that many Gigabyte users have this problem and i'm afraid that my motherboard is the problem.
but why this problem comes and go i mean it should be permanently if it's a hardware problem. right!
