HELP! Problem(s) with MA790FX-UD5P
« on: January 27, 2010, 02:54:30 pm »
OK. I got a new PC today, but I'm having some serious issues with trying to make it work.

I think the motherboard is the cause.

I click the power button and the components seem to work fine. All the fan are spinning and all the lights are on (lol). Howerer, everything that's outside the chassis doesn't work (the monitor is the only thing that seems to work). The keyboard doesn't work, it acts like I haven't plugged it in at all (it's PS/2).

It all started to work when I removed one of the memory sticks, but it stopped 3-4 minutes late. I tried to do that again (install and then remove the memory stick), but it didn't work. Help, please!

The specs are:

AMD AM3 Phenom II 945
XFX 5870 XXX
(2x2) G.Skill Trident DDR3 (2000 MhZ)
WD 750 GB Caviar Green
LC Power 560 W Green Power
Samsung 2433BW
and ofcourse Gigabyte 790FX-UD5P

Could the 2000 MhZ memory sticks be the cause? Help me, please.

Hi,
Make sure your memory is on the QVL,
And in the right slots according to your manual,
enter bios and set cpu and memory to manufactures specs,
Cheers
