Old P67 motherboard in need of replacement

Old P67 motherboard in need of replacement
« on: June 15, 2013, 09:28:05 pm »
Hi, I've go a pc with a fairly old GA-P67A-UD4 motherboard in which the SATA 2 ports have stopped working. I believe this was a known issue which led to a recall and an updated B3 line of motherboards to be released. Due to not building this pc myself and never needing to use sata 2 ports until recently I was unaware of the issue and very happy with the motherboard.

Now I would like to know if there is any possibility of me being eligible for a replacement even though I have no packaging or receipts only the faulty motherboard and if not what a comparable motherboard would be from today's range of gigabyte's full size atx motherboards for an i5 2500k.

Thanks.

Hi there,

not sure if you will be able to get a replacement now and the best advice would be to contact Tech Support to find out if they can help at all. http://ggts.gigabyte.com/tech.asp?ClassID=2&Country=U.K.&SourceWeb=B2C It may take several days to get a reply so please be patient.

As to a new motherboard any of the  Z77's should work with your processor although they are now getting harder to find. The Z77-D3H board is available from Scan http://www.scan.co.uk/products/gigabyte-ga-z77-d3h-usb-30-intel-z77-s-1155-ddr3-sata-iii-6gb-s-sata-raid-pcie-30-d-sub-dvi-d-hdmi-a and I have one of these boards which is running fine.
Remember, when all else fails a cup of tea and a good swear will often help! It won't solve the problem but it will make you feel better.
