GTX770 OC bus interface 2.0 instead 3.0
« on: June 17, 2013, 04:43:04 pm »
Hello,

In the weekend I received my Gigabyte GTX770 OC, no problem with installing.
The driver on the cd is 320.08 wich I first install though I knew there is newer one. (newer one is 320.8 update for Metro Last Light)
Metro LL also got free coupon with the card so after I updated the driver. Some after I noticed Windows Experience index wants to renew for new hardware so I run a new test and suddenly the graphics score went from 7.9 to 7.4!!
GPU-Z reads that the graphics card reports that it supports PCIe x16 2.0 ?! At first it was just running at 3.0. Aida64 also gives Bus Interface PCIe 2.0. Only Nvidia Inspector shows interface is 3.0 but only runs at 2.0.

I have went back to the previous 320.08 driver but it doesn't change back to right bus interface. In BIOS I have setted to Gen3.
Anyone has a clue about this? Do I need to complete delete all the drivers of GPU and reinstall?

Also, Aida64 & Iobits driver manager let me know that Nvidia sound drivers are not up to date and both link me to driver 314.xx (.22 I believe) but I cannot install that sound driver. And the 320.08 sound driver is older one then 320.8. In system tray for sound the playback devices sais all Nvidia HDMI Ouput ports (0 to 3) Nvidia High Definition Audio are not connected. I've my main screen connected HDMI. But I have sound play via Realtek. Is this a problem or can I leave this like it is?

Hi Störung,

Just said .... the last drivers for nVIDIA causes many problems...

Keep drivers 314.22

Describe your hardware configuration : PSU, SSD, motherboard model, revison and bios version, RAM ...

Updated my signature with hardware specs.

The last problem driver is 320.18 (not .8 ) only one that I get from Nvidia driver support for 770.
I should have older drivers somewhere though but not sure 314.22 already supports 700series?
I'll give it a try see what it does.
