*SOLVED* Windows 8 pro 64bit disk management slow to load
« on: June 23, 2013, 12:18:20 pm »
Hi all,

Ever since I install my Samsung 256GB SSD (clean install of Windows Eight Professional) the load time for the Disk Management Console is extremely slow plus it take ages to load the Samsung Magician. Most of anything that require Disk information take much longer to load than it took with just standard SATA HDD.

Any help will be appreciated.

Update:

I found when I disconnect my SATA DVD RW my boot times are lest than a quarter than they were with it connected.

Disk Management Console loads  in a fraction of a second now and Samsung Magician load within 5 second.

All well again lol, but I still need a DVD RW drive....... any recommendations?///

Cheers,

You don't say which SATA port your DVD drive was connected to but have you tried connecting it to one of the GSATA ports and running it in IDE Mode rather than AHCI?
Remember, when all else fails a cup of tea and a good swear will often help! It won't solve the problem but it will make you feel better.

hi absic,

Yes I have now done that (set the on-board SATA port to IDE) and all working great now.

Thanks
