Gigabyte GV-R785OC-2GD problem
« on: October 03, 2012, 04:18:02 pm »
Hello.
I have the video card mentioned in the title, with Hynix memory. It halts at random times, fans stop spinning, and the system isn't responding and requires a hard reset. I flashed the bios with the version F5_A designed for this kind of problem, still the same issue. Is anything else I can do to make it work, or I just have to send it back?
Thank you

Send it back to the reseller ASAP.
And make sure you have the right power supply as well.
Delux ,Rasurbo and such power supply should not be used.

Hi

The first thing is to list all your hardware so we have a better idea of what might be involved. If you intend to return it to the retailer do it as soon as possible or you might find they will refuse to swap it over.

Hello. I have a Gigabyte HD 7850 OC 2GB (GV-R785OC-2GD). BIOS F5_A

When i play games,it freezes with black screen and sound loop.

Tested with FurMark two times 1080p 15min,no errors,freezing happens in games.

Like This --> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pJG3NIOK-70

And This ---> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g8erBOaOBck&feature=related

My cards Core clock is 975mhz and Memory clock is 1200mhz.

My system. Parts are new.

CPU - Intel Core i3 3220 Ivy Bridge Stock Cooler

MB - MSI Z77A-G43 BIOS 2.4 Latest.

RAM - Kingston HyperX 8GB Kit of 2   XMP - On

HDD - WD Caviar Green 500GB Sata3

PSU - Fortron Hexa 500W (Peak Power 550W)

OS - Windows 7 Ultimate x64

Catalyst 12.8 (instaled earlier versions,the same happens)

So any ideas what is this? If someone can help,that would be fantastic.

So today i was testing Battlefield 3 on my clean system.

Catalyst 12.10 - freezing with grey screen with vertical lines.

Catalyst 12.11beta4 - monitor says "No Signal" no sound of the game and no reactions to Alt+F4,Ctrl+Alt+Del,Esc and etc.

Need For Speed Shift and Shift 2 Unleashed - runs normaly,but have some flickering\artifacts with 12.10 and 12.11beta4 drivers.

Hi. You can flash it by running ATIWinflash directly, if I remember correctly, but it won't matter, it doesn't fix the problem, mine still halts, same simptoms as described in the first post. Didn't sent it back because didn't have another card for replacement, needed the pc for work, but I'll do it soon, seems there's no solution for this.
