Hello gentlemen,

My system is refusing to go higher than 1333 mhz.. I tried to selecting XMP profile ( 2400 OC), but system refuses to boot. The memory is on supprt list.
What do I have to try? Thanks in advance

go to the overclocking thred you will get more help there. Also give more specs as in ram type, cpu, motherboard type, psu, the following will help

I already listed MB model and memory model. It is 8gig 4 sticks (2 gig each). APU A8 5500. I didn't do any overclocking. I just thought that if memory is advertised as 2400, why I can't go higher than 1333.. PSU is 485 Watts, so it is sufficient. I guess that such system should pull 300 Watt PSU... I don't exp[erince any problems, I just want my memory works as advertised.. How do I set at least 1600, 1866 Mhz? I don't see in bios how

Supported memory for the  AMD A8-Series A8-5500 is DDR3-1866MHz. The motherboard specifications list as supporting DDR3 2400(OC)/1866/1600/1333/1066 MHz memory modules. 2400(OC) is overclock.

Disabled Disables this function. (Default)

System Memory Multiplier
Allows you to set the system memory multiplier. Auto sets memory multiplier according to memory SPD
data. (Default: Auto) number for 1333MHz is x6.66, 1600MHz is x8, 1866MHz is x9.33.
Memory SPD is usually a very conservative setting such as 1333MHz.

Memory Frequency (MHz)
This value is automatically adjusted according to the BCLK/PCIe Clock Control and System Memory
Multiplier settings.

Thanks Tiger. However I can't adjust "System Memory Multiplier". It is set to auto ( and is 13.33, not as 6.66 as you noted) and when I press enter
key it just do nothing, If I set XMP profile1, the system memory multiplier" goes to 24.00. So my questions remains the same.. how do I set system memory multiplier to 1600MHz and 1866MHz?

What BIOS version are you using?
What CPU are you running?

Have you tried updating the BIOS to F3 to see if that alters the settings availability?

With the UEFI BIOS try using the "Page Up" & "Page Down" keys or the + & - keys on your keyboard to alter settings.

Alright absic, with page up/down I managed to alter the setting, but the system starts with boot failure and asks to boot with defaults. I tried to boot with 16.00
and 18.66 values. Any other ideas? We're moving somewhere

Well, if I were in your position, that is what I would do.
At the moment you can't get your RAM to run at its rated speed or at anything above 1333MHz. Updating the BIOS may resolve this issue and, if it doesn't, you can always flash back to the F2 if you prefer it.

I would recommend that BEFORE you update the BIOS you load Optimised defaults and that you use the QFlash utility for actually running the update.

One more question, absic.. That QFlash utility is run from inside the BIOS? I just went to gigabyte website and they have .exe file of the F3 bios. Didn't find instructions how to flash. So, this do I need this file, should I put it on USB stick or something? Please clarify this for me

You don't need the .exe file.
