UK Overclocking contest in Feb 2009
« on: December 09, 2008, 10:08:41 am »
Hi All

GIGABYTE UK is planning a regional OC event in Feb 2009. The plan is to gather 10 teams and 2 people per team. The even will be hosted in UK.
The UK winner team will go to compete with Euro OC 2009. And the final will be held in Taiwan near Computex 2009.

Please let us know if you are interested.
ZX-S & C64 are still my favourites ;-)

What exactly happens at these contests? I think it would be exciting to participate in an actual event competing with many others. Where exactly in the UK is this being held?

the aim is to get highest results in some benchmarks like 3dmark for instance using the same equipment like others. it's typical that liquid nitrogen (LN2) is used as cooling fluid. this time contest will be based on our X58 mobos, so seems to be perfect fit for you. the winning UK team will go to European final. And the final battle will be in Taiwan during Computex show.

the event will be held at the Milton Keynes Xscape (the snow dome) on 27 Feb 2009

as soon as i have more info then will announce here

Do you have any LN2 experience?
The idea is to have teams overclock the X58 chipset to the max.
This is done by using LN2 and the normal tweaking  ;D
More details will soon be available.

I am afraid I have not used LN2, but would like to try it out. It was just about finding the time and space to do it :)

So what would I need to know about LN2 cooling?
