GA-EX58-UD3R external drive
« on: October 14, 2013, 08:43:12 pm »
Hello
I have a GA-EX58-UD3R mb with windows 7 x64 and a 640GB Hitachi easy drive. It worked fine until I had to update the bios to handle 3TB HDD. Now when ever I turn my computer on the 640GB HD does not show. I get the little yellow "!" If I flip the power on and off it comes up, but I hate when I go to get something off the drive and it's not there. (Because I keep forgetting to flip the switch.  ;D) Anyone know how I can get the drive to show up when I first turn on the computer like it used to?

I also have a WD my book external drive and it works fine

Thanks

After you updated the bios did you clear the cmos and pull the battery. Or did just load the default settings.

Try changing the sata cable and even put it in a different port too.
