Can't boot a brand new Z97X-UD7 TH. POST code: C0
« on: October 01, 2014, 05:55:45 am »
Tried to build my new rig today including the above motherboard and I can't get the dang thing to boot. It powers up, no video out of either the GPU or the on-board HDMI, runs for about 10-15 seconds, then powers down for about 4 seconds before starting over again by booting back up.

Each time it boots, it runs through all the POST codes until it hits C0 and hangs there. Looking it up in the manual, it says that code is a "Reserved Space."  ??? ??? ???

I've tried everything I can find online, from resetting the CMOS to reseating the CPU and double and triple checking the RAM and how it's seated. Nothing really makes much sense here... Anybody have any ideas?

Build:
Mobo: Gigabyte Z97X-UD7 TH
CPU: Intel i7 4790k
RAM: Kingston HyperX FURY 8GB Kit (2x4GB) 1600MHz DDR3 CL10 DIMM
Cooler: Corsair Hydra H50
GPU: Gigabyte GTX 980
PSU: EVGA 750W
HDD: Seagate 2tb
SDD: Samsung 256gb

I'm about ready to just return it to Amazon and try again...

I would try different ram. Look on the approved list to find compatible modules.
