Need help to update bios

Need help to update bios
« on: January 31, 2014, 10:40:01 pm »
I tried to replace my 2GB memory with 4GB but the system did not boot.
The forums suggestion was that I needed bios upgrade.
I have Award F1, 12/31/2010 and the motherboard is G41MT-S2P.

So I downloaded @bios to make the update.
When I tried through internet and selected the various servers it said "URLs cannot be resolved".
So I searched gigabyte site and downloaded this one:

mb_bios_ga_g41mt_s2p_f3 (876 Kb file)

Then I tried the "not through internet method" but it said "file not suitable".
Finally I tried the "update from server method" again and this time it made connection.
But the message was "no suitable bios files found".

What to do ?

There are revisions 1.3 and 1.4 of this motherboard (so maybe I downloaded the wrong bios).
The "check your hardware" softwares I 'm using do not mention the revision number.

You will have to open the side panel of your pc and locate the revision number.
It should be printed in the lower left corner of the motherboard.

If you do update the bios do not use @bios. Lots of problems reported doing it that way.

Download the correct bios to a usb flash drive and use it.
Search the forums here for instructions if necessary.

Gigabyte are playing with my nerves.
Someone told me to download easy tunes to see if that gives the answer to mb revision number.
Stupid of me to listen but it's your program and it should anyway work properly.

First it installs with problems.
It says "FM2PI application has encountered errors and needs to close"
Second it does n't uninstall.
It installs two extra programs "Easy Saver B9.0904.1" and "Enable S3 for USB device" that I don't need and cannot be uninstalled !

Why don't you do the following simple thing and say this:

"listen folks any machine you bought and it's more than 12 months old throw it away because we want more money".
