AMD FX-9370 - Motherboard Advice

Hey guys..

First post here so please be gentle... I am currently having some seriously overheating issues in my current rig, my CPU as mentioned in the subject is an AMD FX-9370, which is an 8 core, 220W CPU.  My  motherboard is currently an Asus Sabertooth FX990 R2.0.  According to the Asus website, my motherboard only supports CPUs up to 140W (and this could be causing my processor's VRM circuitry to overheat)

Now, apparently, the Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3-R4 AMD990FX can support my CPU's wattage, but I wanted some confirmation from someone who possibly knows a little more than me, that it will in fact work with my CPU at a reasonable temperature?

Either that or recommend me another motherboard that will get the job done!

The board you are having should support that CPU thru BIOS update.
It s one of the few excellent boards out there for AM3+.

But if you feel the need to buy another AM3+ board make sure you get the high end ones from Gigabyte ,the HW versions released last year after the CPU showed up and nothing older.
BIOS releases dates for the hardware revisions should be a hint.

I run a Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD5 (rev. 3.0) board with that CPU. I'm using a Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus heatsink and fan. The CPU is running nice and cool at 30c.

The temp is kinda low ,are you sure the board is not throttling the CPU?
When you are gaming heavily does it hit turbo core clocks often or ?!
They can support it but in practice never letting the CPU hit the high performance levels at all times.

Kinda like the Gigabyte board in my signature.Whenever the Turbo is active in BIOS it simply resets as reported by many other users.That Turbo is in my case a feature of the APU that is disabled by default in BIOS ,something never reached , even though i payed for it when i ve bought ,in my case, that APU.
Be careful ,Gigabyte BIOS engineers are sneaky
2 Gigabyte AMD boards throttling middle range CPU-s for me already that is why i am distrustful..
It works but only with specific limitations keeping the CPU in control.
