Brix i7-4500 doesnt run 1600mhz ram
« on: March 27, 2014, 11:53:00 am »
I have a Brix i7-4500 and I cant run 16gb ddr3l Corsair value select ram at 1600mhz. The ram is listed in the approved memory list for this model. However, everytime I try and run it at 1600mhz I get frequent lockups. When this happens the only option is to turn the machine off at the power button, nothing else responds. The only thing which appears to work is to run the ram at 1333mhz. The system seems to be stable when I do this.

I am running windows 8.1 and connecting the brix to a dell 2407 24" monitor via HDMI to DVI Belkin cable.
Running memtest for several hours and windows memory diagnostic doesn't reveal any issues with the ram.

Has anyone come across this problem? Is the problem with the Brix or the Ram  or something else ?

Appreciate any help or suggestions.

Are you using the 1.35volt memory chips and NOT the 1.5 volt memory chips?

How are you running the ram at 1333 speed? I didn't notice any settings in the bios to play with memory settings.
