GA-Z87N-WIFI Power Cycling
« on: June 12, 2014, 01:59:27 pm »
Hi there

I am building a new PC with a GA-Z87N-Wifi Rev 2 and a core i5 4690.

Whenever I power on, the PSU starts for a couple of seconds then stops. It then continues starting and stopping.

I have replaced the PSU and the motherboard. But it makes no difference.

I have tried starting with no RAM installed and no other connections other than power and it makes no difference. What could be the problem? Do I need to replace the processor?

Try with 1 stick of RAM.

Had tried that already, thanks.

It turns out that this board must have a BIOS upgrade before it will even recognise Haswell refresh chips. So if you're buying one new, you;'d better have an older 1150 chip lying around to allow you to update the BIOS.....
