GA-EX58-UD3R - Cannot access BIOS/Boot Menu
« on: June 25, 2014, 04:37:59 pm »
Hi all,

I'm sure the motherboard listed in the topic, Revision 1.6 and after recovering my computer from storage after a year, I cannot access the BIOS. Every time I reboot the computer and hold down either the DEL or F12 keys on the GIGABYTE splash screen, the screen disappears for a few seconds then reappears. This continuously repeats as long as I am holding down a key. Letting go of the key lets the computer boot normally into Windows.

I have tried several things already. One was the @BIOS utility to flash the new BIOS version (FK), but this resulted in the computer not booting at all. This was fixed by a CMOS reset by removing the battery and putting a jumper on the CLR_CMOS pins.

I've tried using multiple USB keyboards and a PS/2 keyboard to no avail, as well as disconnecting everything except the keyboard when starting up, and after trying all these things multiple times and not being able to find a solution online, I'm out of ideas.

Could anyone help at all with this issue please?

Thanks,

Chris
