Hey Guys,

Just upgraded from 8GB ram to this one 16GB from Crucial

Crucial Ballistix Tactical Tracer 16GB Kit (8GBx2) DDR3 1600 MT/s (PC3-12800) CL8 @1.5V UDIMM 240-Pin BLT2CP8G3D1608DT2TXRG

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0091L1MRY/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Now my problem is i can´t boot if i put 2 sticks in.

- I`ve tried all combinations 1-2 / 1-3 / 3-4 / 2-3 / 2-4
- Computer starts booting (black screen)
- Than it shuts off.

If i use 1 stick from this new kit it works good and the system is very stabel.

I`ve tried to disable XMP and with XMP nothing works.

I`ve run both via memtest and they seem fine.

Any ideas iḿ going...

Send it back and get something from QVL  for that motherboard.  I know it isn't what you want to hear but it happens. I have used ram not on list and it has worked good but it is hit and miss. If it isn't on list and it test good and it wont work then time to change to something on list so you are guaranteed it will work.

Hey,

Thanks for the reply, what´s QVL? Which list are you referring to?

The following link is to a list for your board.

http://download.gigabyte.us/FileList/Memory/mb_memory_ga-z77x-up4-th.pdf

You can go to gigabyte site and input you motherboard make and model and then go support and downloads and right there it says cpu list and then memory list. They are the ones gigabyte guarantees to work with your board.
