Z77XUD5H PWD Lock and @Bios Issues
« on: June 29, 2014, 07:11:58 am »
Recently this motherboard is constantly locking the system down with a BIOS password that requires me to reset the bios on every startup to remove it.

Unable to solve this issue I thought I would reflash the BIOS but the @Bios utlity fails to install with the error given
"The following error occurred on the file "C:\Program Files (x86)\Gigabyte\@Bios\Flash.dll"

The system cannot find the file specified 0x2

I tried re downloading the file, even running it on another computer with no luck.

A BIOS flash utility embedded in Flash ROM. Not all motherboards have the Q-Flash, please use @BIOS or DOS flash utility to update BIOS if your motherboard does not have Q-Flash.

To use Q-Flash if you have it format a usb in Fat 32. Download bios to desktop and unzip to usb drive. Restart computer and hit end key then choose update bios from drive and find the bios on usb and hit enter. Do not turn off power while bios is flashing. Upon restart remove usb and start into windows. Verify bios flash with cpuz.

I managed to install @Bios by disabling my virus scanner.

With a new BIOS in place the issue seemed to be fixed but I get the feeling one of the bios sets is still corrupt as if it crashes on startup it goes into a reset loop with no POST untill I select the working bios (via motherboard switch) and clear bios.

If you have a switch cant you just use the second bios and forego the first corrupt bios. If under warranty I would send it in if not then call and ask for a new chip to be sent out they are easy to switch out. Whenever they send out a bios chip it is at the latest level.
