I have just bought the ga-z97x-sli and the intel i5 4670k.
i used the memory from my old pc which is a gigabyte x48.
the problem i am facing is the new system is very unstable to the point of it even freezing in bios.
the board set my memory to 1.5v ( default ) which i increased to 1.9v which is the correct voltage for my SuperTalent STT-W1600UB2G7 sims

this helped and stopped it freezing in bios but i can not install windows at all, it goes to the point of formatting the hard drive
and the board shuts down and restarts.

i have updated the bios to the new F5 but this has not helped at all. at this point the board is unuseable and i have gone back to my old system
the memory sims are fine in fact i am using them now on my old x48 board to do this post.
if anyone could help i would be thankful

Haswel chips are picky in things like memory and so on is it possible to try a chip that is on QVL?

my friend has given me some geil dragon 1333 1.5v ram
it has made this board a lot more stable and its now stable enough for me to have installed windows
only had one blue screen and one freeze up in the last 6 hrs so that's much better then before.

had  no idea the new intel cpu's could be so dam fussy with memory but I know now and its something
I will keep in mind.
