" other Device ... Unknown Device" shows in Device Manager
« on: March 12, 2010, 08:14:52 pm »
How do I find out what device Device Manager is talking about? All the PCI
and USB hardware i have added mounted when I installed their drivers.
I've posted two screenshots, Image A (the one on top) is before installing the
Audigy drivers and Image B is after drivers were installed.

How do I find out for sure what hardware Device Manager is talking about?
Thanks ...

Hi,
You could use the view tab in device manager to show, hidden devices, devices by connection,
Failing that I would rmove additional components untill you find it,
Cheers

ok, I opened Device Manager, clicked on UNKNOWN DEVICE and clicked the DETAILS Tab
and selected LOCATION INFORMATION

it had the following:

PCI Bus 3, Device 7 Function 1

then I checked the Audigy 2 card DETAILS and it showed:

PCI Bus 3, Device 7 Function 0

Does PCI Bus 3, Device 7 make them the same piece of hardware?
