Installing two burners on G31M-S2L/ Windows 8 system

Nobody asked about it, but may be it will help somebody.  I bought BluRay SATA burner and wanted to add it to my existing DVD burner.  Replacing was straightforward, adding the second burner, not at all.
My SATA0 and SATA1 were in use, so I connected the BluRay burner to SATA2. The device was recognized by BIOS, but not by Windows 8. After a search, I found a tweak for Windows 8 to support  two DVD devices:

But it's not all. The system booted, but my HD (on SATA0) failed consistently immediately after boot, leading to Windows 8 repair screen.
I tried  SATA mode settings on BIOS/Integrated peripherials, but it didn't help.

Finally a solution was to leave my HD alone on SATA0 and to use SATA channel 1 for my both burners. Currently the DVD burner is on SATA1 , BluRay on SATA 3. SATA mode remained “Auto”
