GA-X79S-UP5-WIFI X79 - VIA VL800 USB3.0 ports non functional.

Hi, I am currently experiencing issues with the 4x USB3.0 ports on the rear of the motherboard.

I purchased this board approximately 1 year ago, I have not used these ports before but discovered recently that they were not working when I attempted to use them.

Both the Fressco and the VIA USB chipsets are enabled in the BIOS.
Windows device manager only detects the Fressco chipset as a USB3.0 host controller, there are no devices with unknown/question marks or warnings or error icons over them in the device manager list.

Upon re-installing the VIA-VL800 drivers downloaded form the motherboard webpage the install wizard explains that it is unable to detect any supported hardware in the system.

All 4 of the ports provide 5v power but non of the ports provide any data connection, I tested this using my smart phone which would indicate it would charge ok from the ports but would not connect with data.

I am at a loss of what else I can try to get the ports working and feel I may need to RMA the board.

Thoughts and suggestions regarding this problem welcome.

Thanks in advance.
