Gigabyte x99 ud5 wifi - no boot no light on Power Button!
« on: October 13, 2015, 07:23:48 pm »
Hi there.
I have a strange problem.
I have a I7-5820k cpu with x99-ud5 wi-fi.
Today in the morning I turned off my pc and went to work.
After coming home I tried to start my computer but had no response  - at all.
I opened my case and found out that lights on power-on button were gone.

Those are the steps I took to solve the problem:
Reseted cpu - checked for bent pins et cetera - everything is  in perfect condition both on socket and on cpu.
I disconnected all the devices including Graphics card  - Cleared Bios - took out the cmos battery and kept it out for an hour.
I have couple of Power supplies and replaced my existing one.
Plugged in 24pin atx connector - nothing. The lights on power-on button staid OFF.
Tried to change memory stick places - tried with only single memory stick - dual memory sticks - quad memory sticks -
To No avail.
I want to mention that bios is F9 Bios and motherboard revision is v1.0.
I am open to suggestions.
Thanks in advance.

Have tried to use a small screw driver to jump the two pins for power on the board?

[ SOLVED ]

Finicky Memory Slots.
My friend had another set of vanilla crucial ddr4 sticks - with them in place everything worked out.
But...
Unfortunately Now I am hot with A9 Code and cannot enter bios - although system boots into windows.
I am now on F9 bios - any solution to this bug?

On the bios try a Ps2 keyboard.

Sorry for delayed response...
Upgrading t latest Beta F10D Bios Solved the problem otherwise I would have to reformat 10 my HDDs.

It is likely to be a physical problem. Read this http://forum.giga-byte.co.uk/index.php?topic=16664.0

... and check if your pins in your CPU socket are bent. A problem with the socket in this generation of boards from Gigabyte, it seems to me.
