Five out of six of the display ports on my GTX 970 G1 gaming edition cause terrible shimmering on HD images on the desktop and terrible flickering green/white pixels. The one that works -- A DVI-D port with an HDMI adapter -- seems to upscale a sub-1080p resolution, making colors appear very washed and text to be blurry -- where the ports that flicker at least have a crisp image... aside from the artifacts.
And judging by this forum, it seems to be fairly common across all your cards... Maybe you should, idk, look into it?
