ga-x58a-ud3r with 6gb g-skill ram freq/volt adjustments

So I have a ga-x58a-ud3r with 6gb g.skill memory http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231223&Tpk=F3-10666CL9T-6GBNQ

Im trying to overclock the memory timing. The stock memory timing is 9-9-9-24 at 1333(this is what the box says), but in reality, on my computer was 9-10-10-25,but the frequency in the bios was 1066. I then changed it to 8-8-8-20, but now the frequency is 1120. Im not sure if thats normal or what? I just would like to what settings are good with stability and what numbers I need.

I have just borrowed this quote from Peteruk as posted in another thread as it was quicker than doing it again.

The default is 1066MHz your RAM can do 1333MHz.

1066MHz (Data rate MT/s) is 533MHz~ (I/O bus clock )
1333MHz (Data rate MT/s) is 667MHz~ (I/O bus clock )

I know I can go to 1333, but the problem is its set at 1120 and I cant change it to 1333 with the system memory multiplier. At x8, its 1120Mhz and at x10, its 1400Mhz. I was able to change it earlier, but Im not sure if it has something to do with the cpu being overclocked a bit.

Yes it has it is linked together. Drop the cpu back.

If I overclock my cpu some more. Like to 160 block from 150, then can I change my memory multiplier from x8 to x10 and 1600mhz?

You can try but don't forget the CPU has limits. The whole problem with overclocking is that to raise one thing nowadays you have to raise the other because they are linked. Plus usually you have to raise the voltage to get it stable and that produces more heat...viscous circle. Just be aware of the limitaions of your hardware before you start jumping in.

Ok, fair enough....Im gonna get another fan and a better heatsink before I advance further. What is the max full load temp the cpu should be at?
