« on: September 05, 2010, 01:06:21 pm »
Have just had a reply from Gigabyte afetr 3 weeks of waiting since email sent about a problem. I need an I/o panel missing from carton of new motherboard. (reply below)

Please remember to include details of your motherboard. A GTS Email Printout is ideal.

FAE Dept

Does anyone know what it means as there was no real explanation and the reply was useless.

Why is this so difficult.

Hi,

your best bet is to send a PM to runn3R the forum moderator. He works for Gigabyte and will be the person to help.
Remember, when all else fails a cup of tea and a good swear will often help! It won't solve the problem but it will make you feel better.

I take it that what they are after is the motherboard model and serial number but I can't believe that you didn't include them in the original email request.
They can be almost obstructive in their approach sometimes. I am afraid that you will have to reply and give the details asked for. Try PMing runn3R the forum moderator who is employed by Gigabyte to see if he can help speed things along. He is very helpful and will do what he can I am sure.

Hi Graceman

I have checked the reply which was provided to you (EmailID : 961953) and its full version regarding this missing panel was as follows:

"Should you wish to obtain the I/O shield please mail us at the address below with a stamped addressed envelope and we will send you one please note stocks are limited and you may have to wait a short while until new stock is available.

Please remember to include details of your motherboard. A GTS Email Printout is ideal.

(address details)
"

I think it's clear, right?
ZX-S & C64 are still my favourites ;-)

The full email makes a difference doesn't it? So what was the problem in understanding what was required?

Today I received the same answer with the, A GTS Email Printout is ideal, in it.

I too had no idea what it meant and even after reading this, I still had no idea so I asked Gigabyte what it is.

I got a reply but it was not a straight forward answer but after a bit of thought I have concluded that the GTS stands for Gigabyte Technical Support. (D'oh)

So they are asking for a printout of the Gigabyte Technical Support email. However, the email I got just told me that they had answered my question and that I should click on the link to see the answer.

As the answer has the product number at the bottom of it. It should have said, a printout of this answer would be ideal.

Thanks for your notice and sorry for confusion caused. It will be modified accordingly especially that the current technical support system is called e-support, not GTS / GGTS anymore.
