GA-970A-UD3 USB Ports Help
« on: June 29, 2015, 02:52:49 pm »
I have been having problem with all the USB ports on the GA-970A-UD3 MB.  The story start starts with; I bought a Samsung SSD and connected it to a SATA port (DUH).  Ever since then the USB ports do not recognize any of my UFD drives except the keyboard, mouse and printer.  To note a couple of these UFD drives are bootable and they do boot on the system correctly.

Research on the internet shows nothing except to reinstall the USB ports which did not work.  I reinstalled the chipset drivers which didn't work.

Don't worry I'm not angry or anything.  I'm just frustrated.  PS: I LOVE GIGABYTE MOTHERBOARDS!!!

DOES anyone have any ideas out there?

My System:
MB GA-970A-UD3
Memory 16 Gig
SSD Samsung SSD 850 EVO 2.5" SATA III 500GB
HD 1tb WD blue drive
DVD
BLU RAY writer

Windows 7 64bit

Check your mobo manual as to what SATA ports are to be used. I see in the specifications that 2 SATA ports are for RAID. Also, for maximum performance of your SSD you should have your HDD/SSH controller set to AHCI mode and not IDE/SATA mode.
