Hello everyone,
I have a annoying issue and i'm not sure who is the culprit : GPU / motherboard or my TV
As a monitor, i'm using a Samsung 4K TV. Everything was fine until 2 days ago when the tv did some software update. Since then, i can't go into BIOS / F12 / Safe Mode, etc.
That's happent only AFTER the tv did the software update ( now Auto Update is set to OFF )
My GPU is GTX 660, it was working just fine - 4k@60Hz  ( not for gaming, of course )
When i press DELETE during reboot, all i can see is " NO SIGNAL , check cable connections, etc " The post code / led / is 75, i have no idea what that means.
I tried a lot of " tricks " but i can't go into BIOS anymore.
Different cables, GPU in different PCI Ex slots, BIOS default settings, etc etc etc etc
Now, i'm using a second monitor, until i find a solution
Has anyone an idea how could i fix this ? Without access to BIOS, i can't use this brilliant tv as a monitor.
And, i do not have enough space on my desk, to keep a second monitor only for access to BIOS
Thank you in advance.

No ideas, guys ??
I upgraded my GPU, now i have the GTX 980 Ti, but still the same BIOS issue, even after Samsung released a new software version.
What would you advice me to do, to be able to access the BIOS ?
Should i flash some older BIOS version ?
If i would upgrade the motherboard ( which i want to do, soon ) would i be able to access BIOS / quick boot menu ?
Thank you

Are you using Fast boot or Ultra Fast setting in BIOS?  I've read reports from others that enabling Ultra Fast can sometimes make it challenging to get into BIOS in certain situations.

How is your TV connected?

I'd start by trying to boot with a VGA or DVI monitor connected to the card.  Try getting into BIOS.  If that doesn't work, I'd perform a CLR_CMOS and start again.  That will get you in.

It's connected with HDMI - HDMI cable. I tried all the HDMI tv ports.
Fast boot or Ultra Fast setting in BIOS ? My old motherboard doesen't have those options
I have already here a second monitor, 27" full HD.
So, you mean i should try to CLR_ CMOS ? I do not know how to do this
Would you, please, tell me ?
Thank you

Ok, i did the CLR CMOS, with no luck
Same story.
I don't understand what changed after the Samsung latest software update
Does a PC BIOS have a resolution ? If yes, how could i find out which resolution is for my BIOS motherboard ?
And if i find that out, could i modify it, somehow ?

Stop using the HDMI port....  Switch to VGA or DVI

So HDMI is the only thing you have to test with?  In my previous post, I suggested that you try booting using another monitor either vga or DVI.  Given that your BIOS doesn't have Fast or Ultra settings it's very well could be a resolution issue.  Any way you can test this?

Try disconnecting your mouse and keyboard as well.  Non UEFI BIOS often has a halt on all errors and my prompt no keyboard detected....  F1 to proceed.  Might give you another chance to enter BIOS.

Let me explain it to you.
I have a Samsung 4K tv, as PC monitor. After the BIOS issue, i asked a friend to bring his BenQ monitor here to me, only for testing.
Right now i'm using the Samsung, as monitor.
If i want to go into BIOS, i have to use the BENQ smaller monitor. I can go with thew monitor, into BIOS
BenQ is not my monitor, i wont keep it here. Only now, for testing and access BIOS
So, with the BenQ monitor i can access BIOS / F12 / quick boot menu, Safe Mode, etc
How should i check if it's a resolution issue ???

There must be a problem with the Samsung firmware.

My mistake, I did indeed miss the part about the second monitor, which works for you.

This is a resolution problem.  Can you turn the resolution on the display down to 1080x1920p or lower for additional troubleshooting?

It seems the output of the card is unable to match whatever has changed on the Samsung - pre-boot before the drives load.  This is likely related to the age of the BIOS and board.

You mean, i should try to turn the resolution on the display down to 1080x1920p, from nVidia control Panel, or what ?

No, on the monitor itself.  I think the BIOS is now unable to display on the Samsung set to 4k even at 60Hz.  Just try it and see what happens.

My Samsung is only 1080.  Just looked at the settings and I can't turn it down to 720...(see what you mean) My brother in law has a 4k Sam and he can adjust his.  Rez and refresh rates.  My TV is 6 yrs old so has older FW.

I doubt you can downgrade the FW on yours and I wouldn't recommend trying.  I don't see a way around this for you.  The newer UEFI BIOS' have a resolution setting (toggle), but I know for sure the older ones do not.

This is one of those situations where the card and TV have the support, but not the BIOS, or at least what it appears.  It probably drops off somewhere 1920, or 2560, because obviously you weren't getting full 4k in BIOS.  There has to have been some letter boxing.

So the signaling is the same, but the TV can't interpret it now after the FW update.  Which BIOS are you running on the board.  F13?  Tweaktown has F8b for Rev1.0 of board.  Have no idea what it offers.  You wouldn't have anything to lose trying latest BIOS if you are on an earlier one now.
