how update dual bios on 990FXA-UD3 rev.4 with Q-flash
« on: August 29, 2015, 09:06:22 pm »
I'm new in this forum, and I apologize in advance for my bad English.
I bought this motherboard with processor FX-8370 to build my new PC.
Now I'm on vacation and in 14 days I have to assemble the new machine.
I have more of a question in this regard:
I assume that the new 990FXA-UD3 rev.4 have on board bios F2, in this case the processor FX-8370 would not be recognized guess (tell me if I'm wrong).
Luckily for me, I own the old configuration with a Phenom II 1055T which could start the motherboard, in this case I have to have guidance on how to flash bios not only for the main one, but also in the backup (the manual is not is explained).
Thanks in advance to those who will give me a detailed explanation (with google I find only references to older motherboards do not UEFI, and I do not know if they are still valid).
Good evening to all.  :)

Alex

How to use Q Flash is here in the user guide
http://www.gigabyte.com.au/MicroSite/121/tech_qflash.htm

just put the new bios file on an usb stick (FAT32 format) and plug into any usb 2.0 port - then boot into Q Flash (END key) and flash bios. Pretty simple process.
