I've just upgraded my PC with a new processor & GPU, in readiness for Fallout 4, but the processor core speed seems to be very low. The gfx card seems to be performing fine, so I think there's a problem with the processor on this mobo.
Old system: Gigabyte GA-M52L-S3P motherboard with AMD Phenom X3 8650 2.3GHz & 4GB RAM.
Recently moved to Win 10 and replaced the processor for an AMD Phenom II X4 965 3.2GHz, but the 'Properties' of the processor are only showing at half-speed 1.6GHz using Windows device manager, and at just ~800MHz per core using CPUZ.
Is this because the processor is in an 'idle' state until I start stressing it with gaming? Or do I need to switch some jumpers on the board, or flash a new BIOS?
The processor is listed as compatible, and the mobo specs should be able to cope with the faster speed - but currently it seems to be running slower than my old 2.3GHz triple-core.
