z170x Gaming g1 m.2 Options

I'm planning a build using the z170x Gaming g1 and want to confirm my understanding of the m.2 offering, as well as having a new question.  This is to help me understand my storage options.

  • I'm assuming that both m.2 slots use the 4 PCIE3 channels reserved for mass storage devices and that this won't interfere with the x16, x16 config of 2 way SLI, acknowledging that this has little impact in practice;
  • I'm assuming that the two m.2 slots can be have independent storage devices (ie non-RAID) and that this won't impact performance;
  • I'm assuming that the above holds true with U2;
  • Can 2 UD devices be installed by using a second adapter?

I run a M2 SSD and run array too. The M2 SSD has windows crap 10 on it and the array has windows 7. You should be fine running both. Plus I game a lot and have no problems. The only down fall is when you use a M2 SSD you can't use sata ports 4 & 5.
