I just upgraded my hard drive to a SSD, now windows 10 properties windows says 32gb ram/ 16gb usable.  I have cleared the cmos with the jumper, reseated the ram.  I also tested the ram with memtest, and everything is working.  Anyone have any idea why Windows 10 is using only 16gb out of 32gb of ram?

Under "System" my Windows 10 installation shows "Installed memory (RAM): 16.0 GB"  with nothing about usable memory.

Does memtest show and test the full 32 GB memory space? I know windows 7 Home Premium has a 16 GB limitation, but you should be ok with any later 64-bit Windows version.

Go to MSCONFIG/BOOT/ADVANCED OPTIONS and check whether the maximum memory is check marked.

If still no resolution, remove one memory stick, reboot and shut down, install the second memory stick and reboot, taking care to disconnect power when changing memory modules. You can also try different slots.

The bios sees the 32gb of ram.  I installed one stick at a time,  and the same thing happens.  I am currently running Windows 10 Pro x64.  I also removed the battery from the motherboard for 15 secs.  I am at my wits end.

I stepped down the ram speed on notch.  That did not fix the ram issue.  I have a support ticket about this problem with gigabyte.  I am thinking it's either a ram problem, or a motherboard problem.

I went back to 8.1, ran Rammap.  and 16gb are driver locked.  Anyone know how to remove the driver lock from the ram?
Any help would be appreciated.

It sounds like memory space is being reserved for some program, such as a disk caching utility, on your computer. What happens if you boot in safemode?

even in safe mode, with the minimal to boot, it still shows 32gb(16gb usable).  So I guess I will order a new motherboard, since no one is able to tell me how to fix this.
