I've just bought two of the above Kingston DIMMs (brand new) to give me a total of 8GB on this motherboard. I am aware of the restrictions on the use of SS/DS memory in this board BUT this memory is listed as being compatible in the "Gigabyte compatible memory list" for this mobo.
When installed the POST messages indicate that 8GB of memory have been found but then instead of proceeding to report the SATA drives the system reboots. The same thing happens with only one 4GB DIMM installed. I can't get into the BIOS setup either with the 4GB memory installed. The system runs fine when I revert to the Kingston KHX6400D2K2/4G (2 x 2GB DIMM) memory previously installed.
Anyone else had issues with this combination? Is there anything else I need to do with the BIOS or mobo settings to get this mobo and memory combination to work?
Any advice most welcome!
