GA-EX58-UD5 RAM upgrade
« on: December 02, 2015, 03:39:24 pm »
Hello everyone,

I have a GA-EX58-UD5 motherboard, with 3x2 ram modules, but i want to change it and im trying to find compatible ram.
I found this one http://www.gskill.com/en/product/f3-2133c9d-8gxl vey very cheap, second hand... its only 8gb but i really like this one.
Also this one http://www.gskill.com/en/product/f3-1600c11d-16gis brand new, 16gb, looks good to me.

I cant find my motherboard in the QVL list but i would like to know it there is any chance that this rams could run with it, even at lower speeds or something. And if not, if someone can recomend me any 16gb kit it would be great.

Thank you so much.

What CPU are you running?

Support for DDR3 2100+/1333/1066/800 MHz memory modules

Here is what I would do If I was going to upgrade. Yes you can get faster memory but why? You really not going to see a big speed boost running this memory vs faster memory. You really want to run Triple Channel memory not Dual Channel.

Thx for your repply

Intel Core 920 2.67GHz is what i have.

Are you sure that GA-EX58-UD5 supports the ram? it dont appear at the supported mobos, look http://www.gskill.com/en/product/f3-2133c9d-8gxl

I really dont care if i cant use it at max capacity, its just a great deal for a cheap price and i was wondering if my mobo can run it.

Those rams looks great too, im going to check them.

Yes the board might run them, but why would you want to run dual channel. Where the CPU and the board support Triple Channel. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231405
