GA-890GPA-UD3H will NOT see any sata drives on Sata ports 4 & 5

GA-890GPA-UD3H will NOT see any sata drives on Sata ports 4 & 5

I have the latest drivers and bios all up to date.  I got the motherboard replaced today and still the same problem.
I have 5 hard drives and 2 DVDs.  I plug anything into the 3rd column of SATA ports (SATA3_4 or SATA3_5) and they are not seen in windows.
The BIOS DOES see all 7 drives.  It's just windows 7 that is not seeing them.  It's a WD 1TB HD.

Does anyone have any thoughts as to why these ports are not working?  Thanks.

Mark

Hi,
Sorry, I don't have an answer but I do have a couple of questions.....

Which version of Windows 7 are you running?

Have you tried different HDD's or the DVDs in the SATA3_4 and SATA3_5 ports

Are you using RAID for the SATA controller?

cheers

It's Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit.
I have tried different hard drives and dvd's in that row and those drives are never seen in windows.
I have no raid.  It's all just sata.

Thanks.

Hi,

I am at a loss to understand why the SATA channels are not being recognised. Have you tried contacting the Gigabyte Techies to see if they can answer the problem for you?

I had a problem with W7 and a Sata HD , and managed to format it on another PC  , and transfered it to the new one  , and it was recognised in the BIOS , and its been ok since ( 6 weeks + )

try it if you can  ;D
