EX58-UD 3R Rev 1.6 Overclocking issues
« on: March 16, 2010, 02:06:21 pm »
hey guys

I've started overclocking my system up to 4Ghz. it is 3d Mark Vantage stable but blue screens in minutes when running prime.

Turbo Mode (on/off): off
Hyper-threading (on/off): on
HPET (on/off): ..
Loadline Calibration/VDroop (on/off): off

CPU Voltage: 1.35V
CPU PLL Voltage:1.9
QPI/DRam Voltage: ??
QPI/VTT: 1.175
DRam Voltage: 1.66V
IOH: 1.1
ICH I/O: 1.5
ICH Core: 1.1
CPU Differential Amplitude: 900Mv

I've read elsewhere that my problem is to do with the QPI voltage needed to be increased....
However unless this voltage is set to Auto, the system WILL NOT boot. Any other value than auto it will not boot ??

I've become really stuck here and i don't know what to do .... Anyone got any recommendations or advice ???

hey there mayhaps i can help

Below is a list of settings I would use

Turbo Mode (on/off): off
Hyper-threading (on/off): on
HPET (on/off): ..
Loadline Calibration/VDroop (on/off): off

CPU Voltage: 1.35V
CPU PLL Voltage:1.85
Voltage:VTT: 1..41 (this is the correct scaling for 1.65 volts on the ram
DRam Voltage: 1.66V
IOH: 1.1
ICH I/O: 1.55
ICH Core: 1.1
CPU Differential Amplitude: 900Mv

YOU SHOULD BE able to get to 4 gigs EASILY with the above settings, in a avarage do like mine :(:( you can get 4.24  to 4.4 gigs on 1.3875 cpu voltage and 1.42 VTT

Having the CPU PLL  on 1.9 is ok, but if you expect your cpu to last a long time, i wouldnt put it higher than 1.85

Could you by any chance write all your preferences?
- I'm brand new to overclocking, and when I see these settings, I assume a lot is left out, like RAM settings, volt, and other advanced features?
