USB 3 header damage

USB 3 header damage
« on: March 24, 2016, 10:39:12 pm »
I recently purchased a GA-H170N-WiFi motherboard from Amazon.  After installing the components and getting the system up and running I noticed one of the front USB ports doesn't work.  The case connects to the USB 3.0 header.

From consulting the pinouts in the manual that came with the motherboard, there is a missing VBus pin.
is this sort of thing covered by warranty, if so, should I contact Amazon or Gigabyte for support/replacement, and if not, are there any other solutions short of buying a new one?

As mentioned, the case has USB 3.0 ports on the front, and just the single pair, so I can't think of any solutions besides ripping out the ports and trying to replace them with USB2.0 or just living with a dead port.
