GA-EX58-UD5 and Adaptec 1220SA

Hi,

Problem Using GA-EX58-UD5 and Adaptec 1220SA
The raid harddrives are 2x WD raptor 10,000rpm 2.5inch SATA drives in a 3.5inch heatsink thing.

At first i was using onboard RAID, but got lots of errors reported in windows event log on several machines, and some things would not run from the raid drive but when copied onto a non-raid, they ran fine..

So we now try the ADAPTEC 1220SA 2-port raid.
The drives are detected fine, and i goto the Adaptec Bios setup,  create a simple stripe volume between the two drives, as soon as i tell it to create, it just Hangs.
this is on several machines...

It used to work fine on the GA-EX58-UD3R motherboards. however now he have this new batch in of UD5's and having these problems.

I have upgraded BIOS on both the motherboard and the ADAPTEC card, any advice? thanks, steve.

I have the same problem with ADAPTEC, LSI, 3WARE and HP controllers.

Is your problem fixed?
