How to replace the screen on a P37x
« on: June 14, 2016, 07:52:26 pm »
My screen has a bad crack in it and needs replacing.  I have replaced screens on other laptops without any issues but on the P37x I don't know where to begin.

Can anyone tell me how to remove the screen bezel?  There are no obvious screws and I'm hitting a wall at the moment.

Regards,

Alasdair

Ok, so it wasn't as hard as it looked in the end.  There are rubber tabs that protrude slightly on the top left and right of the bezel.  I inserted a small micro flathead underneath the lefthand one and gently lifted of the bezel.  The bezel isn't rigid plastic, it's very flexible and lightweight.  once you get a section off, you can then peel it all the way off.

With the bezel off you can then remove 4 retaining screws to release the panel.  put some foam or cardboard on the keyboard then rest the screen side of the panel on it.  Then you just need to disconnect the cable and you're away.

Hope this helps someone :)
