X99P-SLI black screen in BIOS but video works in OS

Hi,

I've got this really weird problem.

At first everything worked well. I got a video signal both in BIOS and in the operation system.

However, after I did some rearranging of my GPUs (GTX980 and 2x Tesla K40) the video signal in the BIOS stopped working. If I boot directly into the OS (Ubuntu 14.04) the video output works as expected. Also, the motherboard splash screen video signal is working and displaying correctly. It is just when I enter the BIOS that everything goes completely black.

I've tried everything without luck:
  • Reset BIOS CMOS
  • Unplugged battery
  • Only use one GPU plugged in (GTX980 is the only one with video out)
  • Switched the GPU to different slots
  • Removed all bootable devices
  • Tried both DVI-I and HDMI signal (both works in OS and MB splash screen)

Anybody experienced the same issue?

I'd like to test to upgrade the BIOS version, but without any video output it seems nearly impossible (i don't want to install Windows or use WINE in ubuntu to do BIOS upgrade). I've heard some people talk about installing BIOS upgrade directly from USB but it doesn't seem to work on the P version of this MB.
