« on: July 02, 2016, 06:56:45 pm »
Hi im new here !
I bought a ga-z87x-oc as an upgrade my cpu is the pentium G3258 my psu is the corsair RM750. Now i did read up as much as i could find before i post and found people with similarish problems.
My pc wont post at all it turns on but restarts instantly before any error code can be displayed, if i press oc ignition it turns on but doesn't post even if i repress the power button a few sec later. I have two other psu an corsair cx600 and an enermax naxn 600 same thing.
Im considering candles and a pentagram by now :)

thanks in advance

Acording to the cpu suporting brochure from gigabyte website..you should run the F8 bios on it to accept that cpu

Ok but how do i flash the bios when it wont hold power for more than a few seconds ? and with the oc ignition pressed it powers on but doesn't do anything at all . Is the only way to get a supported cpu ?

Have you tried a CLR_CMOS to establish a known good starting point?  What about your memory?  Brand/Spec?  It could very well be the BIOS rev, and CPU, but do you know what rev the board has now?  There is only one rev (1.x) of this board and F8 has been available for quite some time.  If just purchased, the likelyhood of it having BIOS <F8 is possible but less likely.
