GA Z170x Gaming3 rev 1.0 correct bios
« on: August 31, 2016, 09:41:01 pm »
Hello partners!!

Well I have a major dilemma.

I have this motherboard:

http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=5497&dl=1&RWD=0#bios

In his rev. 1.0 Well, according to the website for the latest Bios F6 to be so perfect. But just out of curiosity to open the program @Bios I get all my information rev 1.0 motherboard and I get a new version of Bios F7.

I have seen on the web and there is a version F7 but for revision 1.1

Now I'm confused ????

Greetings and Thanks

What does it say on the board? If you have it in the case look at the bottom left corner. It should be 1.0 or 1.1.

On the board say rev 1.0. But I don't know why @bios suggested  me a version is not available for my motherboard

Is it possible that there is an error? Or the program @Bios has the bios more updated than on the web?

I do not want to make a mistake to leave my motherboard unusable.

To make matters worse, on the web there is a rev. 1.1 with a bios f7

Stick with what is listed for the rev of the board you own.  1.0 F6 - if you must have the latest BIOS.  Honestly F3 should be fine unless you are having a specific problem addressed by a later version (need) updated CPU microcode or memory compatibility.  How many times have you clicked a link and been taken to the wrong page?  Same applies here.

Rev 1.0 board LAN 1.Killer E2201 LAN chip (10/100/1000 Mbit)

Rev 1.1 board LAN 1.Killer E2400 chip (10/100/1000 Mbit) Listed for F7 BIOS > Different LAN chip, different BIOS.  I wouldn't do it.  Wrong rev, wrong hardware.

If your system is running fine, stay where you are.

Well actually must be wrong. If so, they should fix the error so that no one update by mistake.

Indeed, I updated by problems with XMP profiles. It looks a little better, but still must improve
