GA-Z170X-Gaming 3-EU 2 short beeps continuously sound.

Hello.

I've just been away for a few days and turned my PC off, first correctly though Windows and then off at the mains socket.

When I returned I turned it all back on again, started my PC and heard 2 short beeps that repeated to infinity until I pressed and held the PC power button.

I checked Gigabytes webpage and the closest I can find is this: "Continuous short beep :Power supply unit failed" but that makes it sound like it's a single continuous beep while mine is two beeps, brief pause, two beeps, brief pause e.t.c

This is not a new build, it was working fine before I left and has only been powered off for two days.

So is it the PSU or could it be something else?

Many Thanks.

Have you tried to remove the power plug for few minutes and then try it.

Just tried that.

It powers on for a second then off, on, off, on, off and then does the repeating beeps.

The fan does spin on the PSU while it's attempting to power on.

I experiece that a couple of days ago. reset CMOS. turn off the PSU and short the cmos pins. Then turn on the computer. When i select defaults on EASY TURNER that computer crash. force the computer off and when i turn on  the cycle start.
In my case and understanding bios corruption. since my mobo have 2 bios. that rescue the thing.

I know this might not be it, but I had a motherboard that was doing all kinds of things. Like I said it might not it, but check your 24 pin plug and your 8 pin plug. I had that board that was giving problems it turn out to be the 24 pin plug. It had 1 pin connector that got burned.

I just reset the cmos with no joy. Exactly the same.

I haven't checked each pin but I did unplug all connectors and reseat them, I'll check them tomorrow but I'm beginning to think it's the PSU.

I do have a working old one around here somewhere I can dig out and check tomorrow and cross that off the list.

Thanks everyone for your help, very much appreciated.
